Advent Season

In charge of decorating the Christmas table this season?

I love to jump at any opportunity to decorate. This year it was my church's Christmas party. As soon as the opportunity presented itself I knew exactly what I wanted to do!

We live out of town a bit and live off of wood heat. We had just finished cutting down trees to chop for firewood, so all I had to do is walk outside to take my pick. Thankfully with the help of my dad and his shop full of handy tools, we were able to go right to work on this center piece. I then took some 3mm plywood and used my handy dandy laser to cut out my advent tags, that I tied around each advent candle.

I also wanted to do a favor for each of the ladies at their assigned seat. I originally had planned to use my laser to cut out some simple elegant looking Christmas ornaments. But I could only get one to work. (Picture below) Having to deal with the wrong equipment for my machine to do its job and the cold weather making my wood warp,

I ended having to go with hand painted ornaments. It took a bit longer, but it was still a lot of fun.
